4 Types of Breast Implants to Choose From

Getting breast implants can help you get the body that you've always wanted and may even help you increase your self-esteem. The first step to any breast augmentation is choosing the type of implant that you want. From saline to Ideal, this article will list four different options that you have to choose from.

Saline Implants

Saline implants were the first type of implant available that's still used today. Filled with saltwater, saline continues to remain a popular option because it's considered to be a safer choice. For instance, if your implant were to rupture, it would be easily detectable because the implant would almost instantly deflate. Plus, because saline isn't bad for the body, it would be easily absorbed by it. One thing to know about saline implants, however, is that they are a little bit firmer in texture, which some women like and some women don't.

Silicone Implants

Silicone implants were released just a few years after saline implants and have a silicone gel on the inside which gives them a more natural feeling texture. Although silicone implants were removed from the market in the 90's because of several lawsuits regarding silicone ruptures that were unsafe, the FDA has released them back on the market, and they are now safer than ever. Even though silicone implants have what is called a slow rupture (which means they are harder to detect), the silicone used is typically fairly safe for the body. As long as you are getting regular MRI screenings, any leak should be detected sooner rather than later.

Gummy Bear Implants

Gummy bear implants are one of the newest types of implants out there. These implants are filled with a thicker type of silicone which is how they get their gummy bear name. Although a bit firmer in texture, gummy bear implants are popular because they tend to look a lot more natural. Why? Because rather than being round shaped like traditional implants, they are teardrop-shaped which makes them fit on the chest more naturally because they are heavier at the bottom and skinnier at the top.

Ideal Implants

Ideal implants are another type of implant that's available out there and they are made of multiple chambers that have both saline and silicone in them. These implants are extremely popular because they tend to last a lot longer than other implants and they feel more natural than any other type of implant out there, which makes them so ideal.
